Sunday School Classes

One of the best ways to meet disciples on the journey is by joining a Sunday School Class. Classes available at 9:30 and 11. 

9:15AM - Tower Class

Join the Tower Room Class for plenty of laughs as we study scripture and explore our faith together. Meets in the Choir Room on the second floor of the church.

9:15AM - Upper Room Class

Meets in the small classroom off the welcome area, the Upper Room Class led by longtime member, Paul Whalen, meets every week for coffee, discussion and laughs. 

11AM - Pathfinders

The Pathfinders' class is our newest class at Highland Methodist. The Pathfinders take part in book studies, scripture, and share a few prayers with each other. You can join get info on how to join by emailing johnhb@highlandmethodist.com.

Adult Discipleship Opportunities

Every Month, adults gather for discipleship at Highland Methodist. Information about many of our groups can be found below. 

Word Warriors

This women’s group has been meeting since 2003. Through the years the primary focus for study and discussion has been the writings of Beth Moore. The group is inclusive and supportive in an atmosphere of mutual respect, confidentiality and care. Members are intentional in their commitment to personal and spiritual growth.                   karen.beymer@yahoo.com

Love Thy Neighbor

Members  are connected online with information sharing and mutual support  for the purpose of planning and implementing social service projects in the community motivated by the love and mercy seen in the life and teachings of Jesus.  In person meetings for updating and long term planning are held twice a year in the Fall and Spring. 

Open Minds Book Club

Participants seek personal, social and spiritual growth through reading and discussing books, podcasts and videos with themes related to, but not limited to, social justice, inclusion and the universal presence of the Christ in our world. Facilitation is shared by members.  Meetings are the first and third Wednesday  at 6:30.  

Coffee & Friends

Coffee & Friends is a casual gathering hosted by Linda and Wayne Wiedenbein in their home. You are invited to join them in Fort Thomas at 10am on the first Wednesday of each month (May 27) for delicious beverages and great conversation. 

Circle 5 - Sisters of Lydia

Circle 5 meets the second Monday of the month at noon September-June in individual homes. Over lunch, we have a devotional and prayer in response to needs and occasional programs or book discussions. We support such agencies as Ida Spence Mission, Brighton Center, Matthew 25 Ministries and the Pastor’s Hope Fund.
       

Circle 13

Circle 13 meets the third Monday of each month September-June in the Welcome Center at 7 pm. Being rooted in Christ, we support each other with prayer, fellowship and opportunities for spiritual growth. Leadership rotates. We also put our faith into action with support for local, national and global missions. Twice a year, we have gather for a special meal with our significant others.

Kentucky Resettlement Ministry 

KRM (Kentucky Resettlement Ministry) KRM is working with Catholic Charities and churches across Kentucky to resettle Afghan refugees. KRM is requesting teams of volunteers from the churches to be available to help refugees with the adjustment/transition period. Our church has joined this effort and is forming a Welcome Team.                                

Together at the Table:
The Highland Methodist and Northern Kentucky Reconciling Community

This community, born at Highland Methodist, joins around these values held in common in the Reconciling Ministries Network (RMN) of the United Methodist Church.

Membership in and/or attendance at Together at the Table events is open to all. We'll gather for food, discussion, music, service, or programs approximately four times a year.
