Bluebird Christian Preschool
Mission & History

Our mission is to provide a loving non-denominational Christian environment in which children can develop socially, emotionally, intellectually, physically, and spiritually through age appropriate activities. We strive to instill Christian morals, values, and a love of learning into each child that is entrusted to our care.

Bluebird Christian Preschool is a ministry of Highland United Methodist Church located in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky. From its beginnings as a story time for children in 1968, Bluebird has grown into a thriving preschool offering programs for ages 2 to Pre-K.

Academic Philosophy

Bluebird believes in learning through play and social interaction. Starting in the 2’s program, children learn basic skills which are built upon as they progress through preschool. As children enter the older classes more emphasis will be placed on reading and writing readiness skills as well as kindergarten readiness skills. While we have an academic emphasis at Bluebird, we also strive to keep our program both age and developmentally appropriate. Our goal is to develop a love for learning that will last a lifetime.

Spiritual Instruction

Bluebird Christian Preschool prides itself in helping children develop morals and values that will benefit them for life. We build our instruction around scripture and Bible stories that promote basic Christian principles such as the Golden Rule.

Enrichment Programs

Music Classes for 3’s, 4’s and  5s provide music-making experiences for children each week. Through these experiences children develop musical skills, self-expression, focused attention, imagination, and active listening skills.

Spanish Class provides children with exposure to the Spanish language. The purpose of this time is to allow older children to learn about a different language and culture.

Big Room and outdoor playground are recess time which helps children develop gross motor skills as well as learn proper social behavior in a stimulating environment.

Yoga Class via Cosmic Kids Yoga (you Tube) provides exercise and stretching activities for 3s, 4s, and 5s.  Often the 2s classes participate too!

Walking field trips are incorporated into our 4's and 5s classes. The teachers, students and parents will go out and explore great places around Bluebird and learn about their community.
