Prayer Ministries

We are a praying church. We believe in the power of prayer to restore health to body, mind and spirit, as well as to heal relationships and to transform lives for abundant and joyful living. We provide the following ministries that our members can access and, thereby, know that others are with them in prayer when there is a special need for God’s grace, love and mercy.

Sunday Bulletin Listings

The prayer requests that we receive from the connect cards, emails, and phone calls are sent at the beginning of each week. This listing is printed in the bulletin each week unless requested to the contrary. Last names can be withheld on request. Prayers are offered for these needs during the Sunday worship service.

Intercessory Prayer Team

This ministry responds to confidential requests for prayer and to long term needs. A small group of members commit to maintaining confidentiality and to giving time to intentional and focused intercessory prayer. Requests are communicated personally to the pastor or staff or by means of prayer cards and envelopes that are available in the pews.

Walk To Emmaus and Chrysalis

The Walk to Emmaus and its youth counterpart, Chrysalis, is a spiritual renewal program intended to strengthen the local church through the development of Christian disciples and leaders. The walk is a 72 hour short course in Christianity, comprised of fifteen talks by lay and clergy on the themes of God’s grace, disciplines of Christian discipleship, and what it means to be the church. There are special times of worship and daily celebration of Holy Communion. The Emmaus walk begins Thursday evening and concludes Sunday evening. Men and women attend separate walks. The Chrysalis walk begins on a Friday evening and concludes on Monday evening (Martin Luther and Presidents Day). Boys and Girls attend seperate flights.

What is Emmaus/Chrysalis?

The aim of Emmaus is to inspire, challenge, and equip local church members for Christian action – in their homes, churches, workplaces, and communities.

What Happens There?

While the Emmaus Walk is fun and rejuvenating, it is also concentrated and full. A moment of silent reflection, then discussion and creative responses follow each of fifteen uplifting talks. Each day includes break times, snacks and meals.
