  • Joyce Whitt, Director

    Joyce graduated from Centre College with a B.S. in Mathematics and a minor in Fine Arts. She obtained her teaching certificate from Northern Kentucky University and her Masters in Education from Indiana Wesleyan University. She has enjoyed a career as a high school Mathematics teacher as well as a stay at home mom. Joyce finds that being the Director of Bluebird allows her to incorporate her background in education with her love for children and her desire to serve the Lord.

  • Judy Schreyer, Administrative Assistant

    Judy joined Bluebird in 2011 and has enjoyed working with a wonderful staff and getting to know Bluebird families. She has a BFA from Miami University and loves bringing her creativity to Bluebird. She has been married for 23 years and has 3 teen aged daughters. She also has inherited the volunteer gene and has spent countless hours helping out at her children's' schools and church.

  • mary scott, Learning Coordinator

    Mary is a certified teacher with a Master’s in Education from Northern Kentucky University. She was a grade school teacher for many years and then stayed home to raise 3 children who now live in 3 different states. She has been teaching remedial reading as a private tutor and volunteers at an inner city tutoring center. She is a member of Holy Spirit Parish in Newport. Mary is excited to be a part of the faith based learning environment at Bluebird. She joined the Bluebird team as a 4's Assistant in 2017 and will now work with all classes in her new roll as Learning Specialist.

  • Lori Gibbs, Pre-K lead teacher

    Lori joined the Bluebird Staff in 2014 as a 2's Assistant and was hired as the Pre-K Lead Teacher in 2015. She received her Kindergarten to 8th grade certification from the College of Mount St. Joseph. She and her husband of 25 years live in Ft. Thomas with their 3 children where they enjoy camping, hiking and geocaching.

  • renee rust, Pre-K Assistant

    Renee is very excited to be going into her eighth year at Bluebird as a teacher assistant in the PreK class. She thoroughly loves and enjoys working with these children and considers it the most fun and rewarding experience. She graduated from NKU with a bachelors degree in psychology. She is married and has 2 children. Her son is attending UC and her daughter is a student at Highlands High School.

  • Caren Hamilton, Pre-K assistant

    Caren is excited and looking forward to starting her 5th year at Bluebird Preschool. She has spent the last 3 years assisting with the 4's classes and will be her second year working on the Pre-K classroom. She is a graduate of Highlands High School and Eastern KY University with a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design. She lives in Ft. Thomas with her husband Fred of 18 years, and 2 children: Jacqueline attends Highlands High School & Max is at student at Highlands Middle School. She attends Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church.

  • Barb Moore, 4's Lead Teacher

    Barb is excited to begin her 20th year at Bluebird. She feels it has been such a blessing working with young children, watching them grow emotionally, spiritually, and academically. She has been married 36 years and has 3 children and 1 grandchild. She attends St Joseph Church, Cold Spring.

  • Regina FickenschEr, 4's Lead assistant

    This is Regina's 7th year at Bluebird as the 4's lead assistant. She has been involved with children for 17 years and finds it rewarding as well as keeping her active. She and her husband of 26 years raised their 2 children in Ft. Thomas and have recently moved to Newport to a house they have been renovating. She is a member of St. Thomas Church and Newport Business Association.

  • Jamee Nickelman, 4's Assistant

    Jamee Nickelman began working at Bluebird in 2017 as an assistant in the 3's classes. She will be joining the 4's teaching team for the 2018-19 school year. She grew up in Ft. Thomas and went to Highlands High School. She currently lives here in Ft. Thomas with her husband and five children. She enjoys family time and can usually be found on the sidelines of her children's sporting events. She is a member or St. Therese Parish.

  • Cyndy Jones, 3's Lead teacher

    Cyndy Tharp Jones joined Bluebird in 2013 as the lead teacher for the 3 year old classes. She is a native of Ft. Thomas, a Highlands graduate and holds a BA and MA in Education from Northern Kentucky University. After 33 years of teaching at Ludlow Elementary, she retired in 2011. Since retirement she has taught morning Kindergarten and enjoyed traveling and time with family. She is also an active member of Highland United Methodist Church and Delta Kappa Gamma Society for Key Women Educators. God has blessed her with a wonderful teaching career and she feels blessed again to have this opportunity at Bluebird to continue nurturing young children.

  • Amy Gastright, 3's Lead Assistant

    Amy has been at Bluebird for 9 years and is looking forward to another year as the 3's Lead Assistant. Amy is a mother of three and spends most of her time with her family. She has a degree in English and enjoys cooking, reading, gardening and spending time with her family.

  • Claire Freppon, 3's Assistant (8:30 & 10 Classes)

    Claire is excited to start her first year as an assistant in the 3’s class after spending the last 7 years as a Bluebird parent. Her children Ava (9) and Jude (7) are now students at Moyer, and Lydia (5) has one last year at Bluebird. Claire has an Interior Design degree from the University of Cincinnati and worked in the design field before staying home with her children. She lives in Fort Thomas with her children and husband, Andy, and enjoys baking and decorating cakes and watching her kids play sports.

  • Emily Forton, 3's Teacher, 9 Am CLass

    Emily was a Bluebird parent for the 5 years before joining the staff in 2017. She lives in Fort Thomas with her husband, Bill, and their three sons - Adam, Andrew, and Ryan. She has her MBA from Xavier University and her BSW from the University of Kentucky. She enjoys being outdoors with her family boating or camping, but is usually found on the sideline of one of her boys' youth sports games. She is a member of St. Catherine of Siena parish.

  • REBECCA Neufarth, 3's Teacher, 9 Am CLass

    Rebecca graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a BBA in Marketing and International Business. She worked in Event planning and sales before staying home with her girls, Isabella (10) and Gabby (8), who both attended Bluebird and are now students at Woodfill. Rebecca and her husband, Eric, live in Ft Thomas and are members of St Thomas parish. Rebecca loves Bluebird and is excited to be teaching the 3's class with Ms. Emily! 

  • Hilary Dungan, 2's M/W and T/TH Lead Teacher

    Hilary began teaching our 2's classes in 2012. She worked as an assistant for the 4 year old classes during the 2011-12 school year. She has a BS from NKU in Human Services with an emphasis in preschool. She is married and has two daughters. They are members of Highland United Methodist Church. She looks forward to getting to know her students and their families.

  • Becky Fischer LuCchetta, 2's M/W Assistant

    Becky graduated from Ball State University with a BS in Dietetics. She has been married to her husband, John, for 11 years and has stayed home with their two daughters for the past 7 years. Emily is in 2nd grade at Johnson Elementary and Anna is in Pre-K at Bluebird. Becky and her family moved to Fort Thomas in 2015 and she is looking forward to starting to work in the community and getting to know all of the wonderful children and their families in Ms. Hilary's 2's class.

  • Beth Crawford, 2's Monday Only & T/Th assistant

    Beth has a BS in Computer Science from NKU and worked for several years as a computer programmer and IT recruiter. For the past 8 years, she has been a stay-at-home mom to Lukas and Charlie, who both attended Bluebird and now attend Moyer. Beth also has a stepdaughter that attends Bellarmine. She lives in Fort Thomas with her kids and husband of 13 years, Ray. She is excited to start her 2nd year at Bluebird!

  • Shelley Frey, 2's Monday only Lead teacher, Spanish Teacher & Move Teacher

    Shelley started teaching at Bluebird 2016 as an assistant in the 2s class and started a Spanish class mid-year. She will be very busy at Bluebird this year as she leads the 2's Monday Only class, teaching our Move Class on Tuesday and Spanish class on Wednesday to the 3's, 4's and Pre-K. She has a BS in Biology from UK and worked in the pharmaceutical research industry for several years. Most recently, Shelley has been a stay-at-home mom to Matt and Lily, who both attended and loved Bluebird. She lives in Fort Thomas with her kids and husband, R.J. Shelley is so grateful for all that Bluebird has given to her family and loves being a part of the Bluebird team!

  • Kristin Tilley, 2's Monday Only Assistant

    This is Kristin's 4th year as a Bluebird parent and 2nd as the 2's Monday Only Assistant. She and her husband, Sean, have been married six years and they have one daughter, Ella, who just turned 5. Prior to staying at home with her daughter, Kristin was a paralegal at the Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office and her husband is a firefighter/paramedic. In her free time she enjoys doing fun activities with her daughter and spending time with friends and family.

  • Sarah Mc Coy, Music Teacher

    Sarah is in her 11th year of teaching music to the 3's, 4's, and Pre-K's at Bluebird. She has delighted in seeing her own children grow up at Bluebird and teaching them in her music class. She earned a BA in music from Centre College, MEd from Xavier University, and is Level III certified in Orff-Schulwerk from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Sarah also teaches Music Together classes in the area for young children and their caregivers. She lives in Ft. Thomas with her husband Justin and three children: Daniel, Anna, and Megan. She is an active member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish, where she is involved in the music ministry.
