Impact KY is a yearly service project organized by the KY Conference of the United Methodist Church. Statewide in August, volunteers of all ages congregate on designated projects to assist the poor and those impacted by disaster.
In August 2014, we sent a dozen volunteers to local sites right here in Northern, KY to clean up a park of overgrown weeks and to help set up a new children's Sunday School class at Ida Spence Mission in Covington.
In 2013, we joined over 2,000 volunteers in Western Kentucky to impact individual's lives, group organizations, a community, a town. a district, .... the effect continues to ripple across the state, across the nation, and across the world. Nearly 20 people from HUMC drove to Henderson, KY to pack 100,000 meals to be distributed to the hungry across the world.
In 2012, HUMC sent a crew to the tornado raveged areas of north central KY to help the ongoing cleanup. On one farm, we helped salvage barn timber that had been strewn across the fields to be reused for new barns.
