Joyce graduated from Centre College with a B.S. in Mathematics and a minor in Fine Arts. She obtained her teaching certificate from Northern Kentucky University and her Masters in Education from Indiana Wesleyan University. She has enjoyed a career as a high school Mathematics teacher as well as a stay at home mom. Joyce finds that being the Director of Bluebird allows her to incorporate her background in education with her love for children and her desire to serve the Lord. Joyce has been married for 27 years and has two daughters in the Ft. Thomas schools.
Judy joined Bluebird in 2011 and has enjoyed working with a wonderful staff and getting to know Bluebird families. She has a BFA from Miami University and loves bringing her creativity to Bluebird. She has been married for 21 years and has 3 daughters. She also has inherited the volunteer gene and has spent countless hours helping out at her childrens' school and church (and loving every minute of it!)
Lori joined the Bluebird Staff in 2014 as a 2's Assistant and was hired as the Pre-K Lead Teacher in 2015. She received her Kindergarten to 8th grade certification from the College of Mount St. Joseph. She and her husband of 23 years live in Ft. Thomas with their 3 children where they enjoy camping, hiking and geocaching.
Molly is starting her 17th year at Bluebird. She has been an aide or a teacher for all of our grades: 2's, 3's, 4's, and Pre-K and enjoyed working with them all.
She has a BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design and does freelance artwork. She has been married to Dave for 37 years and has 3 grown children. She is a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church and lives in Ft. Thomas.
Renee is very excited to be going into her seventh year at Bluebird as a teacher assistant in the PreK class. She thoroughly loves and enjoys working with these children and considers it the most fun and rewarding experience.
She graduated from NKU with a bachelors degree in psychology.
She is married and has 2 children. Her son is 17 and will be a senior at Highlands High School and her daughter is 14 and will be in freshman.
Barb is excited to begin her 18th year at Bluebird. She feels it has been such a blessing working with young children, watching them grow emotionally, spiritually, and academically. She has been married 34 years and has 3 children. She attends St Joseph Church, Cold Spring.
4's Lead Assistant
This is Regina's fifth year at Bluebird as the 4's lead assistant. She has been involved with children for 15 years and finds it rewarding as well as keeping her active. She lives in Ft. Thomas with her husband of 23 years and their two children. She is a member of St. Thomas Church and Newport Business Association.
Caren is excited and looking forward to starting her 3rd year at Bluebird Preschool assisting with the 4's. She is a graduate of Highlands High School and Eastern KY University with a bachelors degree in Interior Design. She lives in Ft. Thomas with her husband Fred of 16 years, and 2 children: Jacqueline (13) at Highlands Middle School & Max (9) is at Johnson. She attends Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church.
After retiring from the English department at Conner High School in 2014, Connie is looking forward to her first year working with the Bluebird four-year-olds. She earned both her B.A. in English and M.A. Ed. in Education from Northern Kentucky University. She is the mother of four grown children and the grandmother of five. In her spare time, Connie enjoys reading, camping, and gardening. She is an active member of The Bridge Community Church in Alexandria.
3's Lead Teacher
Cyndy Tharp Jones joined Bluebird in 2013 as the lead teacher for the 3 year old classes. She is a native of Ft. Thomas, a Highlands graduate and holds a BA and MA in Education from Northern Kentucky University. After 33 years of teaching at Ludlow Elementary, she retired in 2011. Since retirement she has taught morning Kindergarten and enjoyed traveling and time with family. She is also an active member of Highland United Methodist Church and Delta Kappa Gamma Society for Key Women Educators. God has blessed her with a wonderful teaching career and she feels blessed again to have this opportunity at Bluebird to continue nurturing young children.
3's Lead Assistant
Amy has been at Bluebird for 7 years and is looking forward to another year as the 3's Lead Assistant. Amy is a mother of three and spends most of her time with her family. She has a degree in English and enjoys cooking, reading, gardening and spending time with her family.
Julie is delighted to be starting her 8th year as a teacher assistant to the 3's at Bluebird. Meeting and teaching so many generations of three-year-olds, and watching them grow, has been amazing and wonderful.
Julie has been married 21 years, and lives in Fort Thomas with her family. She has a degree in theatre from NKU, and loves to perform in shows when she can. She is a member of St. Vincent Ferrer church in Kenwood.
Lauralee is looking forward to beginning her 2nd year assisting with the 3's at Bluebird. She graduated from Highlands High School and the University of Kentucky with a degree in psychology and a minor in art studio. Lauralee has spent many summers coaching young children, teaching them basic springboard diving techniques. She lives in Ft. Thomas with her husband Andrew, and three children: Ashton (11), Adelaide (9), and Lillian (8), all of whom attended Bluebird. She attends Saint Catherine of Siena Parish in Ft. Thomas.
2's Lead Teacher
Hilary will begin her 5th year as the 2's lead teacher. She worked as an assistant for the 4 year old classes in 2011-12 and is excited to be teaching the 2's classes again this year. She is married and has two daughters, ages 13 and 9. They are members of Highland United Methodist Church. She looks forward to getting to know her students and their families.
Lynn is a native to Northern Kentucky. She grew up in Newport on Waterworks Road and attended Our Lady Providence High School. Upon graduation Lynn was hired by Procter and Gamble. She retired in 2012 after 32 years of service. Lynn was happily married for 30 years and has two grown daughters, Ashley (Clos) and Tiffany (Mann). Lynn is a member of First Church of Christ in Burlington where she volunteered in the children’s Garden Center, Welcome Center, and passed communion. She enjoys camping, spending time with her girls, and watching her grandson, Colin. She is very excited to start her 2nd year at Bluebird.
Shelley is beginning her first year as a member of the Bluebird staff as an assistant in the 2s class. She has a BS in Biology from UK and worked in the pharmaceutical research industry for several years. Most recently, Shelley has been a stay-at-home mom to Matt (7) and Lily (6), who both attended and loved Bluebird. She lives in Fort Thomas with her kids and husband of 13 years, R.J. Shelley is so grateful for all that Bluebird has given to her family and can't wait to be a part of the team!
Sarah is in her ninth year of teaching music to the 3's, 4's, and Pre-K's at Bluebird. She has delighted in seeing her own children grow up at Bluebird and teaching them in her music class. She earned a BA in music from Centre College, MEd from Xavier University, and is Level III certified in Orff-Schulwerk from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Sarah lives in Ft. Thomas with her husband Justin and three children: Daniel (12), Anna (10), and Megan (6). She is an active member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish, where she is involved in the music ministry.
