  • Joyce Whitt, Director

    Joyce graduated from Centre College with a B.S. in Mathematics and a minor in Fine Arts. She obtained her teaching certificate from Northern Kentucky University and her Masters in Education from Indiana Wesleyan University. She has enjoyed a career as a high school Mathematics teacher as well as a stay at home mom. Joyce finds that being the Director of Bluebird allows her to incorporate her background in education with her love for children and her desire to serve the Lord.

  • Judy Schreyer, Administrative Assistant

    Judy joined Bluebird in 2011 and has enjoyed working with a wonderful staff and getting to know Bluebird families. She has a BFA from Miami University and loves bringing her creativity to Bluebird. She has been married for 22 years and has 3 daughters. She also has inherited the volunteer gene and has spent countless hours helping out at her children's' schools and church.

  • Lori Gibbs, Pre-K lead teacher

    Lori joined the Bluebird Staff in 2014 as a 2's Assistant and was hired as the Pre-K Lead Teacher in 2015. She received her Kindergarten to 8th grade certification from the College of Mount St. Joseph. She and her husband of 24 years live in Ft. Thomas with their 3 children where they enjoy camping, hiking and geocaching.

  • renee rust, Pre-K Assistant

    Renee is very excited to be going into her seventh year at Bluebird as a teacher assistant in the PreK class. She thoroughly loves and enjoys working with these children and considers it the most fun and rewarding experience. She graduated from NKU with a bachelors degree in psychology. She is married and has 2 children. Her son is 17 and will be a senior at Highlands High School and her daughter is 14 and will be in freshman.

  • Caren Hamilton, Pre-K assistant

    Caren is excited and looking forward to starting her 4th year at Bluebird Preschool. She has spent the last 3 years assisting with the 4's classes and will be her first year working on the Pre-K classroom. She is a graduate of Highlands High School and Eastern KY University with a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design. She lives in Ft. Thomas with her husband Fred of 17 years, and 2 children: Jacqueline (14) at Highlands High School & Max (10) is at Johnson. She attends Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church.

  • Barb Moore, 4's Lead Teacher

    Barb is excited to begin her 19th year at Bluebird. She feels it has been such a blessing working with young children, watching them grow emotionally, spiritually, and academically. She has been married 35 years and has 3 children. She attends St Joseph Church, Cold Spring.

  • Regina FickenschEr, 4's Lead assistant

    This is Regina's 6th year at Bluebird as the 4's lead assistant. She has been involved with children for 16 years and finds it rewarding as well as keeping her active. She and her husband of 25 years raised their 2 children in Ft. Thomas and have recently moved to Newport to a house they have been renovating. She is a member of St. Thomas Church and Newport Business Association.

    Mary is a certified teacher with a Master’s in Education from Northern Kentucky University. She was a grade school teacher for many years and then stayed home to raise 3 children who now live in 3 different states. She has been teaching remedial reading as a private tutor and volunteers at an inner city tutoring center. She is a member of Holy Spirit Parish in Newport. Mary is excited to be a part of the faith based learning environment at Bluebird.

  • Cyndy Jones, 3's Lead teacher

    Cyndy Tharp Jones joined Bluebird in 2013 as the lead teacher for the 3 year old classes. She is a native of Ft. Thomas, a Highlands graduate and holds a BA and MA in Education from Northern Kentucky University. After 33 years of teaching at Ludlow Elementary, she retired in 2011. Since retirement she has taught morning Kindergarten and enjoyed traveling and time with family. She is also an active member of Highland United Methodist Church and Delta Kappa Gamma Society for Key Women Educators. God has blessed her with a wonderful teaching career and she feels blessed again to have this opportunity at Bluebird to continue nurturing young children.

  • Amy Gastright, 3's Lead Assistant

    Amy has been at Bluebird for 8 years and is looking forward to another year as the 3's Lead Assistant. Amy is a mother of three and spends most of her time with her family. She has a degree in English and enjoys cooking, reading, gardening and spending time with her family.

  • Lynn Mann, 3's Assistant, 8:30 AM CLass

    Lynn is a native to Northern Kentucky. She grew up in Newport on Waterworks Road and attended Our Lady Providence High School. Upon graduation Lynn was hired by Procter and Gamble. She retired in 2012 after 32 years of service. Lynn was happily married for 30 years and has two grown daughters, Ashley (Clos) and Tiffany (Mann). Lynn is a member of First Church of Christ in Burlington where she volunteered in the children’s Garden Center, Welcome Center, and passed communion. She enjoys camping, spending time with her girls, and watching her grandson, Colin. She worked as a 2's assistant for 2 years and is very excited to start her 1st year assisting in the 3's classrooms.

  • Emily Forton, 3's Assistant, 9 Am CLass

    Emily has been Bluebird parent for the past 5 years, joining the staff in 2017. She lives in Fort Thomas with her husband, Bill, and their three sons - Adam, Andrew, and Ryan. She has her MBA from Xavier University and her BSW from the University of Kentucky. She enjoys being outdoors with her family boating or camping, but is usually found on the sideline of one of her boys' youth sports games. She is a member of St. Catherine of Siena parish.

  • Hilary Dungan, 2's M/W and T/TH Lead Teacher

    Hilary began teaching our 2's classes in 2012. She worked as an assistant for the 4 year old classes during the 2011-12 school year. She has a BS from NKU in Human Services with an emphasis in preschool. She is married and has two daughters. They are members of Highland United Methodist Church. She looks forward to getting to know her students and their families.

  • Shelley Frey, 2's Monday only Lead teacher, Spanish Teacher & 2's T/Th assistant

    Shelley is beginning her second year as a member of the Bluebird staff. She began in 2016 as an assistant in the 2s class and started a Spanish class mid-year. She will be very busy at Bluebird this year as she leads the 2's Monday Only class, assisting on the 2's Tuesday/Thursday Class and teaches Spanish to the 3's, 4's and Pre-K classes on Wednesdays. She has a BS in Biology from UK and worked in the pharmaceutical research industry for several years. Most recently, Shelley has been a stay-at-home mom to Matt and Lily, who both attended and loved Bluebird. She lives in Fort Thomas with her kids and husband, R.J. Shelley is so grateful for all that Bluebird has given to her family and can't wait to be a part of the team!

  • Beth Crawford, 2's M/w and T/Th assistant

    Beth has a BS in Computer Science from NKU and worked for several years as a computer programmer and IT recruiter. For the past 8 years, she has been a stay-at-home mom to Lukas (9) and Charlie (8), who both attended Bluebird and now attend Moyer. Beth also has a 19 year old stepdaughter that attends Bellarmine. She lives in Fort Thomas with her kids and husband of 12 years, Ray. She is excited to start her first full year at Bluebird!

  • Kristin Tilley, 2's Monday Only Assistant

    This is Kristin's third year as a Bluebird parent! She and her husband, Sean, have been married five years and they have one daughter, Ella, who just turned 4. Prior to staying at home with her daughter, Kristin was a paralegal at the Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office and her husband is a firefighter/paramedic. In her free time she enjoys doing fun activities with her daughter and spending time with friends and family.

  • Sarah Mc Coy, Music Teacher

    Sarah is in her 10th year of teaching music to the 3's, 4's, and Pre-K's at Bluebird. She has delighted in seeing her own children grow up at Bluebird and teaching them in her music class. She earned a BA in music from Centre College, MEd from Xavier University, and is Level III certified in Orff-Schulwerk from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Sarah lives in Ft. Thomas with her husband Justin and three children: Daniel (13), Anna (11), and Megan (7). She is an active member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish, where she is involved in the music ministry.
